호텔 & 스파 몰리노 데 알쿠네사 - 시구엔사

Excellence at many levels in this gem of a property, a bit off the main roads, but totally worth the detour, to near Sigüenza. The hotel, the restaurant, the service, the decoration, they spa - everything is executed to near perfection. It is a total discovery.

My wife and I first visited this oasis of tranquility way back in 2008 for just one night to celebrate our 25th Wedding anniversary, and we had the most enjoyable meal we’d ever had in Spain till then. However, the charm of the old mill  stayed in our minds and when it came to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary in 2023, we decided to return for a longer stay.  Arriving by train in Sigüenza, we looked for a taxi but in Sigüenza in August, they’re like hen’s teeth :-)  (Ie non existent ) So, chancing our luck we phoned the Hotel and they graciously sent a car to pick us up (first good point), on arrival we were very warmly greeted by Inés (Head of Reception) who congratulated us on our anniversary (evidently when booking, I’d mentioned we were coming to celebrate our 40th) and on arrival in the room, there was a bottle of champagne and a large jar of their honey together with a welcome card wishing us a happy Anniversary and a pleasant stay. Staff The first thing to be mentioned was that all the staff had very pleasant attitude with smiles being the default, I can’t emphasise enough just how pleasantI the staff were as I think this makes or breaks a stay in a hotel,  personally I think  they all took their lead from Inés who was always around to help with any issues.  Food The food in the Bistro (the cheaper option)  was at the same level as the Restaurant with the tasting menu being Michelin star worthy  Environment  The grounds were really extensive with plenty of space where one could enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside. The Room It was quite quaint as was to be expected of a mill conversion, very comfortable however.  The Verdict I can’t sing the praise of this very pleasant haven of tranquility enough All in all a very, very enjoyable stay, literally everything was just perfect  Oh and of course,  needless to say, on departure they ferried us back to Sigüenza Would we return? You bet we will.

Beautiful boutique hotel in a peaceful setting. It’s the finer details and personal touches that make this hotel stand out and you can tell that a lot of love and thought has gone into each space. Room was beautifully decorated and luxurious. Bed very comfortable! It’s a shame the weather was poor during our stay as we would have loved to spend more time outside on the terrace and by the pool. Loved the option to dine in-house alfresco at the Bistro as storms stopped us from venturing out to Siguenza for dinner. The food was very good, especially the breakfast consisting of in-house made treats and locally sourced produce. We were sad to leave!

The restaurant experience is unique and the accommodation very comfortable. The area is very peaceful and Siguenza is a superb village! Some improvements can be made for a nicer experience in the Spa & Massage rituals.

Nos alojamos en la suite premium, pero lamentablemente la experiencia no estuvo a la altura de nuestras expectativas. La habitación presentaba una decoración anticuada, el baño tenía muy poca presión de agua y los espacios no estaban bien aprovechados. La habitación no tiene persianas ni cortinas blackout. Lo más decepcionante fue la falta de tranquilidad. Elegimos este lugar buscando descanso y relajación, pero fue todo lo contrario. Hubo ruidos constantes, golpes y portazos a toda hora. La insonorización, simplemente, no existe. Otro aspecto negativo fueron los precios del restaurante, que consideramos excesivos para la calidad ofrecida. En general, la relación calidad-precio deja mucho que desear. En el lado positivo, disfrutamos mucho del spa y los masajes, que fueron excelentes. Sin embargo, no repetiríamos la experiencia. También es importante mencionar que el hotel ofrece cargadores para vehículos eléctricos. No obstante, el nuestro dejó de funcionar varias veces y tuvimos que pedir al personal que lo reactivara en tres o cuatro ocasiones. Si un servicio no puede garantizarse, lo más responsable sería no ofrecerlo, ya que condiciona decisiones importantes como el tipo de coche que uno lleva.

Maravilloso hotel en plena naturaleza, con detalles preciosos en cada rincón.Habitaciines amplias con un baño totalmente equipado para no echar nada en falta. La comida exquisita respetando los productos de la zona y el servicio muy amable y atento. Totalmente recomendable.
